CATALYSER - or: Consulting service at its best

monoceros PR combines creativity with content and that on all channels. As an agency for strategic communication, we show that we understand what it means to play relevant information to the media. And sometimes this requires its own medium.

For months, we worked together with the Life Science Factory and BIOCOM Fachverlag on the first magazine for start-ups from the life sciences. A consulting service that is quite something. From the idea to the conception, editorial meetings, interview appointments, and writing articles, it has been an exciting journey. In collaboration with a renowned trade journal, this magazine brings together the worlds of start-ups and life sciences. Read more about it in the media.

The Life Science Factory Göttingen is a household name in the industry and is considered the first port of call for start-ups and spin-offs from the life science sector. Time to showcase its know-how and excellent network more clearly and to focus on life science start-ups in Germany on a larger scale - with its own special publication. Because until now there has been no specialised publication on the market that brought together the two worlds of "start-ups" and "life science". The magazine was created in cooperation with the editorial team of the established BIOCOM Fachverlag. Andreas Mietzsch, CEO of BIOCOM AG, describes his impressions of the cooperation in an interview.

monoceros: What was your impression when you first heard about the idea of a start-up magazine for the life sciences industry?

Mietzsch: We were spontaneously enthusiastic. A lively start-up scene is precious for any future-oriented industry. Dedicating a printed magazine to the young - who have the reputation of only reading electronically - is very appealing. After all, the trade press holds up surprisingly well. The contents have changed over time, but a real magazine that you can touch is something special again for many.

monoceros: From your point of view, how did the cooperation between you and monoceros PR go?

Mietzsch: When a producing publisher and an agency get together, sparks fly in the best case. That was the case this time: a common objective, but different experiences and knowledge brought together - the sum is worth more than the individual parts.

monoceros: What added value for journalism do you see in the cooperation between traditional publishing houses and PR agencies?

Mietzsch: We are quite conservative here: it must be clear to the readership whether a media contribution is an independent journalism or public relations. Both have their value, but the mature reader must know and be able to judge what information is being offered.

monoceros: What appealed to you most about the cooperation? What can this mean for the future?

Mietzsch: In the case of CATALYSER, it was a very exciting combination, and the client was an essential part of it. In this case, a traditional company that has succeeded in making the leap from a medium-sized laboratory equipment supplier to an international group with a DAX listing in our core area of biotechnology. We have always accompanied this development journalistically - and now to realise an exciting project for young people in a trio was just great. And it would be great if there were a continuation.

The printed edition of the first Catalyser was preceded by a year of preliminary consideration and planning. We approached cooperation partners, coordinated interview dates and advertisements, and discussed concepts and formats in editorial meetings with BIOCOM Fachverlag. The work has paid off. We are proud of this - our - lighthouse project.
